Lamp Flip is a lamp toggle puzzle. Some lamps on the grid are lit. Tapping a tile flips a fixed pattern of lamps, turning lit ones off and dark ones on. Switch every lamp off in as few taps as you can. The pattern is shown in the top-left corner, and on mixed boards each tile shows its own pattern in its corner. On desktop you can hover a tile to preview it, and every tap flashes the lamps it flipped.

Two facts make it a logic puzzle rather than a guessing game. The order of taps never matters, and tapping the same tile twice cancels out. So a solution is simply a set of tiles, each tapped once. Every level has exactly one smallest set, and every position can still be solved, so there are no dead ends.

The pattern changes by tier: a plus of the tile and its four neighbours, then diagonals, then knight jumps, then boards where each tile has its own pattern. Par is the fewest taps. Matching it earns three stars, and up to two over earns two. Undo removes the last tap from the count. The hint makes the next tap of a smallest solution for you and caps the level at two stars. Sixty boards run from Plus to Grand Circuit, with a new daily board each day.

Worked example

On a plus board, five lit lamps in a plus shape clear with a single tap in their centre. On a knight board, a tap flips the lamps a knight's jump away but not the tile itself, so you can never switch a lamp off by tapping it. A corner lamp has only two tiles that can reach it, which gives you somewhere to start.

Strategy tips

Start where choices are few. Corners and edges are reached by fewer tiles.

Think in sets. Since order does not matter, decide which tiles to tap before tapping any.
