Shove Tactics is a turn-based tactics puzzle in which the monsters show their hand. Red squares mark exactly where every attack will land when you end the turn, and a small burst marks who will be hit, monsters included. Your heroes carry no sword, and monsters never walk; they move only when shoved. You win by shoving them into rocks, water, each other and each other's attacks.
Each turn every hero may step one square and then shove one neighbouring monster one square. Tap a dot and the right hero acts. A monster shoved into a rock or the edge loses a heart. Shove it into another monster and both lose one. Shove it into water and it is gone. Crabs pinch the square in front of them. Frogs spit along their line and hit the first creature in the way, friend or foe. After attacking, each monster turns to face the nearest hero.
Clear every monster within the turn limit, and keep your heroes' hearts above zero. Finishing in par turns with as many hearts as possible earns three stars, and in par turns two. Undo steps back. The hint shows the next action of a fastest plan and caps the level at two stars. Sixty arenas run from Tidepool to Last Stand, with a daily arena.
Worked example
A frog faces along the top row, ready to spit. A crab with one heart stands just below that row. Step your hero beside the crab and shove it up into the row. When you end the turn, the frog's spit hits the first creature in its line, which is now the crab, and the crab is gone.
Strategy tips
Read the red squares. Step out of danger and set up a shove in the same turn.
Aim for water. A shove into water removes a monster whatever its hearts.
Watch the turn after. Monsters re-aim at the nearest hero, so plan where they will face next.
